First of all, if you are wondering, this is not a new sequel to the 1993 franchise but the very first Jurassic Park that debuted on the big screen 20 years ago which was recently remastered into 3D to commemorate the film's twentieth anniversary.

When billionaire John Hammond (Richard Attenborough) devised a way to genetically clone dinosaurs, he welcomes Paleontologists Alan Grant (Sam Neill) and Ellie Sadler (Laura Dern) to a remote island for a sneak peek at the unfinished park for their seal of approval. But when the park's security system is sabotaged by a disgruntled employee, the visitors are left to fend for themselves against the hungry inhabitants.

Best scene ever!

Maybe it's just me but I feel that the 3D is not very significant other than the subtitles. Alright, maybe it did give the jungle some depth of view but I am more looking forward to having the Dilophosaurus spitting venom into my face or even to have the flock of Gallimimusleaping out of the screen but none of that happen, unfortunately.

Well, that is just to give you a rough idea about the 3D if that is what you are coming for. However, you could hardly blame the film-makers as the movie was not filmed with 3D in mind twenty years ago.

Despite that, watching the T-Rex on the big screen (with the sound effects and all) is definitely worth the cost of admission on its own even without the 3D. This is afterall, Jurassic Park - winner of three Oscars at the Academy Awards.

Thanks to the folks from UIP Singapore for the preview invites!
