The hawker stalls at Golden Mile Food Centre took up the two lower levels of the building. So far, I have covered most of the must-try stalls on the upper floor.
This week, I ventured downstairs to the lower floor where the majority of the Muslim stalls are.
Contender number one on my must-try list here is Burgs, a Muslim-owned burger joint run by three friends with culinary background.
Offering gourmet burgers at pocket friendly prices, I ordered "The Classics" - a cheeseburger at $4.90 which includes a serving of thick-cut fries (top up $1 for onion rings).
The burger is comprised of a handcrafted beef patty, Burgs' signature sauce, pickled green chili, American cheese and crispy fried shallots.
I thought it was pretty odd to see fried shallots in a burger but somehow, all the flavors just come harmoniously together.

I am totally mesmerized by the thick and juicy handcrafted beef patty. The sides are a little crisp while the middle is still moist. I should have ordered double patty for double satisfaction and double happiness.
The fries is freshly fried and unsalted which is fine by me.

Burgs serve cafe-standard gourmet burgers at affordable hawker prices. Their offerings are definitely value for money and best of all, is halal so everyone can eat.
