Other than Zhenguang Wantan Noodles, Kiat Huat Wanton Noodle is another stall offering the same noodle dish under the same roof at Haig Road Market & Food Centre.
However, I noticed that Kiat Huat is the one with a perpetual queue whenever I visit the food centre.
I decided to try them out to see if they are better than Zhenguang Wantan Noodles since they draw a bigger crowd in front of their stall.

I ordered the default $3 plate of wanton noodle which came with a generous mound of noodle, char siew, chye sim and four wantons in a bowl of soup.
I like how the wanton noodle is served in the cockerel plate.

Similar to Zhenguang, Kiat Huat is also using the same thicker-than-usual mee kia. I personally dislike this type of mee kia because I find that it have a flour-y smell to it.

Even Ji Ji Wanton Noodle Specialist from Hong Lim Food Centre uses this type of noodle as well.
I only like the normal skinny mee kia.
As for the concoction of sauce, I am not quite sure what goes into it but it is not savory enough for my liking. The chili is not the usual sambal but comes with a lot of chili seeds.

Their char siew fared slightly better than Zhenguang's while I find their boiled wantons rather uninspiring.
In conclusion, Kiat Huat Wanton Noodle does not rock my boat. I don't think it is bad, but itis not what I look for in a plate of wanton noodle.
I actually went back a second time to give them another chance. This time, I tried their fried wanton noodle.
Unfortunately, I still do not like the sauce and noodle and on both occasions, I could not finish the noodles. However, I must say I like their fried wantons a lot more than the boiled ones.
